I am Ali Ghanbari, born on 2002 in Tabriz, Iran. Currently, I reside in Tehran. My journey in music began at the age of 5 when I started learning to play the tombak. By the age of 10, I focused on the tar as my main instrument, influenced by my father, a traditional maker of tar and setar.

I have had the privilege of learning from esteemed teachers such as Mr. Hooman Ganbari, Ata Mahjoob, and Ghassim Rahimzadeh. My primary instruments are the tar, setar, and oud, and I predominantly play traditional Iranian music. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Persian Music Performance from the University of Tehran.

My performance experience includes notable concerts such as playing alongside Sahar Mohammadi and Sohrab Pournazeri at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin on October 23, 2021, and at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on September 4, 2022. I also participated in the concert-play Se-ssad at the Sa’dabad Palace, and I was part of the tour Pirooz and Parizad Qomssari in various Iranian cities.

I have contributed as an oud player in the album “Shams” by Homayoun Shajarian and Keykhosro Pournazeri. I have been recognized with several awards, including first place in the tar category at the 9th, 10th, and 11th National Youth Music Festival and as a special talent in tar playing at the 17th anniversary of the Iranian House of Music.

My collaborations include working with renowned artists such as Homayoun Shajarian, Keykhosro Pournazeri, Sohrab Pournazeri, Tahmoures Pournazeri, and Ali Qomssari.
